Why they sold out quickly
The publicly available validator map indicates that approximately 40% of Solana validators are located across Frankfurt and Amsterdam. In Solana operations, network distance to the leader validator directly affects effective latency and stability. Demand for same‑network, zero‑distance placement in these two regions has therefore surged and became one of the reasons for the sellout.
Separately, lowering latency floors, sustaining throughput, and tightening tail latency require sustained high CPU clock speeds. Especially for gRPC streaming and real‑time processing, full‑turbo operation backed by cooling, power provisioning, and operational design is effective. However, data centers that can stably maintain full‑turbo for long durations are rare, which structurally constrains supply. This is the root cause of limited availability and ongoing demand outpacing supply.
