ERPC Launches Zero-Distance Snapshot Downloads for Solana Node Bare Metal, Up to 40× Faster

ERPC, operated by ELSOUL LABO B.V. (Headquarters: Amsterdam, Netherlands; CEO: Fumitake Kawasaki) and Validators DAO, announces the launch of “Zero-Distance, Ultra-Fast Snapshot Download” as a new benefit for bare metal servers designed for Solana node operations.
As a high-performance Solana RPC platform, ERPC has continuously provided infrastructure built for real-world Solana operations. This new capability represents a further extension of operational quality that is only possible because these bare metal servers are deployed directly within the ERPC platform.
Relationship Between the ERPC Platform and Bare Metal Servers
The bare metal servers provided by ERPC are not simply high-performance hardware offerings. These servers are deployed inside ERPC’s own high-quality network infrastructure designed specifically for Solana.
By residing on the same network—or on paths extremely close to those supporting RPC, gRPC, Shreds, and validator-to-validator communication—the operational assumptions differ fundamentally from conventional data-center-hosted bare metal servers. This structure enables Solana applications and node operations to achieve exceptionally high reproducibility and consistently low latency.
New Feature: Zero-Distance, Ultra-Fast Snapshot Download
The “Zero-Distance, Ultra-Fast Snapshot Download” introduced in this release is designed for RPC operators and validator operators using ERPC bare metal servers.
While snapshot acquisition is essential for Solana node operations, it has traditionally been one of the most significant operational burdens.
Challenges in Conventional Snapshot Operations
With standard Solana snapshot downloads, even when using indexed RPC services, snapshot acquisition typically requires approximately two hours in European regions and around four hours in Asian regions.
These long download times occur every time a node is restarted, rebuilt, or recovered after an incident, extending operational downtime. For RPC operators and validator operators, this waiting time directly translates into opportunity loss and degraded operational quality.
What Changes with the ERPC Network
With ERPC bare metal servers, snapshots do not need to be retrieved over the public internet. The servers are deployed within ERPC’s private Solana network, allowing snapshot data to be downloaded directly from within the ERPC network.
As a result, snapshot downloads that previously required several hours can now be completed in approximately five to ten minutes. This difference is not the result of temporary tuning or optimizations; it is a structural advantage derived from fundamentally different assumptions regarding physical distance, network paths, and bandwidth control, and it is consistently reproducible.
Simplified Setup and Operations with SLV
This ultra-fast snapshot download capability can be easily enabled by using SLV, the open-source Solana validator operations framework.
With SLV, the entire process—from launching RPC nodes or validators to ongoing operations—can be completed with a single command. Snapshot-related configurations are included, eliminating complex manual procedures and enabling reproducible, reliable operations.
Detailed setup instructions are available in the following official documentation: https://slv.dev/en/doc/mainnet-rpc/snapshot/
Intended Use Cases
This feature is particularly effective for the following use cases:
- RPC operators who frequently restart or rebuild nodes
- Validator operators seeking to minimize recovery time during incidents
- Environments requiring rapid deployment of test setups or new regions
- Operations that prioritize reproducibility and long-term stability

This feature is available on ERPC bare metal servers designed for Solana node operations. The pricing tables for Solana validator and Solana RPC bare metal offerings are shown below.

The Value Provided by ERPC
ERPC does not offer environments that merely look good in short-term benchmarks. What ERPC provides is a foundation that maintains stable conditions and delivers consistent results in everyday operations.
By combining high-quality networking, hardware selection based on real operational requirements, and an open-source operations framework centered on SLV, ERPC delivers an environment that enables Solana node operations to remain both simpler and higher in quality over the long term.
Looking Ahead
For those operating Solana nodes, we invite you to consider the high-quality ERPC platform.
We sincerely thank you for your continued support of ERPC throughout the year. The feedback we receive from the community directly drives ongoing improvements to our platform and serves as a vital source of momentum for our research and development efforts.
We will continue advancing both our platform and open-source research to make high-quality Solana operations more accessible. We wish you a wonderful New Year.
